CENTER FOR DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING NAMES ROBERT BAUMGARTNER AS EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN AND TOM TOMLINSON AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Center for Diagnostic Imaging (CDI) today announced that Robert V. Baumgartner has been named Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors. Baumgartner has served as CDI’s Chief Executive Officer and Director for the past 10 years. Baumgartner replaces Kenneth Heithoff, M.D., as Chairman. Heithoff will continue to serve on the Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors also named Tom Tomlinson to serve as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. Tomlinson has been serving as CDI’s President and Chief Operating Officer for the past year and has been with the company since 2002. Tomlinson was also named to the Board of Directors. Baumgartner noted, “Tom has served as CFO, COO and President in his nine years with CDI and has been instrumental in the company’s growth. He will do a wonderful job as CEO.”
As CEO, Tomlinson will focus on driving CDI’s national vision, strategy and growth. “CDI’s mission is to deliver extraordinary care to our patients and excellence in medical quality for both our patients and referring physicians; as we continue to grow, that is our number one priority,” said Tomlinson. With 58 clinics across the nation and a strong financial position, CDI is well positioned for the future. Tomlinson commented, “Under the leadership of Bob Baumgartner and Dr. Heithoff, CDI has transformed into a national leader in our market segments. I look forward to working with them in their new roles as Executive Chairman and Board Director, and thank them for their ongoing contributions to CDI’s success.”
Along with the promotion of Tomlinson, CDI is pleased to announce the additional executive promotions of Rick Long and Tracy Wiese. In announcing these appointments Tomlinson commented, “Both Rick and Tracy are leaders of proven ability. We are fortunate to have them as a part of our executive team. Given the depth of leadership talent at CDI, including the Market Executives that run our local markets, I am confident that CDI has a bright future.”
Rick Long has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer and will continue overseeing national operations. Long joined CDI in 2004 and most recently served as Senior Vice President of Operations, playing a critical role in helping CDI engage in new and innovative partnerships. In his new role, Long will continue to focus his business development expertise on strengthening and expanding CDI’s presence in its current markets. This includes working with local CDI executives across the country to collaborate with hospitals, physicians, payers and employers as well as maintaining existing business.
Tracy Wiese has been promoted to Chief Marketing & Sales Officer. Wiese joined CDI in 2002, became Vice President of Marketing and Product Management, and most recently served as Senior Vice President of Management Services. In that role she led national market expansion for CDI’s consulting and management services group, working with hospitals and physicians to assess, reorganize and more effectively operate their radiology and related service lines. In her new role, Wiese will provide leadership to the sales and marketing teams, as well as continue to lead the expansion of management services.
