One Medical Partners with Providence St. Joseph Health System in Portland and Orange County
SAN FRANCISCO (July 30, 2019) – One Medical, the nation’s largest independent primary care provider, will expand its partnership with Providence St. Joseph Health, entering the Portland, Oregon and Orange County, California markets in 2020. The opening of the Portland primary care clinics will mark One Medical’s entry into Oregon, an important milestone as the company continues expanding its national reach. The Orange County expansion bolsters One Medical’s greater Southern California presence, offering residents more comprehensive and accessible primary care as well as seamless access to specialty care through Providence St. Joseph Health.
This partnership allows One Medical and Providence St. Joseph Health to provide a coordinated primary and specialty care service for members. In these two new markets, One Medical’s offices will provide accessible primary care by offering same or next-day appointments and 24/7 care via the virtual platform. One Medical members will also receive access to the full range of network partner specialists, typically experiencing less wait time for appointment bookings. For easier follow-up and improved care coordination, Providence St. Joseph Health is working towards access to One Medical’s proprietary Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, giving providers a comprehensive view of each patient’s health history and fluid two-way collaboration. With this partnership, One Medical deepens its existing relationship with Providence St. Joseph Health, which is already in effect in Seattle and Los Angeles.
As One Medical continues to increase accessibility for patient care and lower overall healthcare costs, the company will prioritize partnerships with strategic health systems in new and established markets. One Medical is committed to transforming the healthcare experience and expanding the definition of what primary care means today. This includes partnering with health systems that cater to specialty care and providing more accessible and comprehensive primary care where members work, live, and travel.
One Medical’s relationship with Providence St. Joseph Health is one of several existing health system partnerships, which include UCSF Health (Bay Area), UCSD Health (San Diego), Mount Sinai of New York (NYC), Dignity Health (Phoenix), and most recently announced, Advocate Aurora (Chicago) and Emory Healthcare (Atlanta.)
