Cone Health Names Newest Administrative Fellow
The two-year fellowship program is designed to prepare tomorrow’s health care leaders.
GREENSBORO, NC – August 01, 2017 – Kaitlyn Hunsberger of Dixon, Illinois, is Cone Health’s newest administrative fellow. The purpose of the two-year fellowship is to develop health care leaders of the future.
Hunsberger credits a mentor and an internship at her hometown hospital for leading her to the idea of becoming a health care executive. The more she thought about the career, the more it appealed to her. “I realized the positive impact strong health care leaders can have on the communities a health system serves,” says Hunsberger.
Fellows spend time in many areas of the Cone Health network gaining broad experience in health care administration. Much of their time is spent with Cone Health senior leadership on strategic initiatives designed to improve patient care.
Hunsberger feels Cone Health is an organization sharing many of her values. And she is clear as to what comes next. “To be a sponge and absorb and learn as much as I can in as many areas as I can throughout the next two years of my fellowship.”
Hunsberger completed a master’s degree in health administration from the University of Iowa College of Public Health. She earned a bachelor’s degree in management with an emphasis in human resources from the University of Iowa College of Business. She also worked as a human resources associate for the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.
Cone Health screens and interviews candidates from across the nation. Cinthya Garcia is in her second year as an administrative fellow. Jasmine Hainey recently completed her fellowship and joined Cone Health as a senior financial analyst.
